Choctaw Volleyball Drops a Pair of Five-Set Heartbreakers
The Mississippi College volleyball team fell in a pair of five-set heartbreakers on Saturday, Sept. 21 inside A.E. Wood Coliseum to Spring Hill College and Henderson State University. It's the fourth time this season MC (3-8) has played to five sets this season.

Dance Marathon Set for November 21 Boosts Blair Batson Children's Hospital
Last year's MC Dance Marathon raised nearly $43,000 for the facility at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. When the event returns to the Clinton campus on November 21, students are likely to exceed that amount. The six-hour event in Anderson Hall begins at 6 p.m. that Thursday.

Mississippi College Equestrian Team Gallops Into New Season
Coach Claudia Billups leads a spirited bunch of Lady Choctaws who compete at the highest levels in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. This Fall, MC launches its 13th season with a road show sponsored by Trinity University. The event October 19-20 will be at the Marglin Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas. The TU squad is one of the longest-standing club teams at the school based in San Antonio, Texas.

Students all throughout Mississippi College's history have flourished in their education through a wide range of courses. MC gives students a chance to apply their studies in an adventure overseas through our Study Abroad Programs. These students have a chance to travel to countries all over the world and be immersed in a brand-new culture in conjunction to the classes they are enrolled in. Abigail McNeer is studying abroad through MC in South Korea at the Sookmyung Women's University located in the capitol of South Korea, Seoul. This modern university invites males and female from all over the world to participate in classes taught in English by professors from all over the world. This university upholds a motto, "Gentle Power to Change the World."

Kaitlyn Thompson studied in Asia this summer. Thompson traveled to South Korea to take courses at Sookmyung Women's University the capitol of South Korea, Seoul. This modern university invites males and female from all over the world to participate in classes taught in English by professors from all over the world. Student Study Abroad For Fall Semester in France
Students all throughout Mississippi College's history have flourished in their education through a wide range of courses. MC gives students a chance to apply their studies in an adventure overseas through our Study Abroad Programs. These students have a chance to travel to countries all over the world and be immersed in a brand-new culture in conjunction to the classes they are enrolled in. For the France study abroad program this semester, Miriam Middleton is off adventuring through the Parisian streets and taking classes in the city of Tours. MC students study French at the Institut de Touraine along with other students from all over the world. Students who study in France will spend their time with a host family in Tours.

MC gives students a chance to apply their studies in an adventure overseas through our Study Abroad Programs. These students have a chance to travel to countries all over the world and be immersed in a brand-new culture in conjunction to the classes they are enrolled in. Isabella Hall, Lily Claire Mann, and Kristina Williams all traveled to Kyoto, Japan this summer as part of the study abroad program. The students studied at one of the most prominent private universities in Japan, Doshisha University. These three ladies received 6 credit hours, 1 PE credit, and 1 chapel credit during their summer program.

These students have a chance to travel to countries all over the world and be immersed in a brand-new culture in conjunction to the classes they are enrolled in. There are seven students who are studying abroad all over the world this Fall semester. Robert Mason is studying in London this semester for the CEA (Cultural Experiences Abroad) program. Through this program, students gain internship experience that is an excellent resume boosting experience.

Involvement Fair Showcases Student Organizations
The two-hour event was held on the pedestrian street outside the university cafeteria. Leaders of sports teams, the Student Government Association, clubs, tribes, drama groups and others plugged their organizations. Students learned about campus jobs. There are more than 40 campus organizations, leadership groups and departments represented at the initial event.

One recent event was the admissions office's Junior Day as 80 high school juniors toured the Clinton campus. Working with President Blake Thompson, who launched the group, the first class of MC Ambassadors set a high standard. Inducted in late April, the newest class was selected to be their successors.

Nursing School Leaders Salute New Graduates at Mississippi College
Mississippi College Dean Kimberly Sharp spoke at ceremonies to congratulate the new nurses. She says she will continue to keep them in her prayers. Sharp urged the Class of 2019 to continue to keep Christ at the center of their lives as they serve others. A cross, representing Christian caring and commitment, is superimposed on the MC School of Nursing pin. An image of Provine Chapel is imposed in the center of the pin going to the 65 new graduates.

Drew Brees Receives Warm Welcome at Mississippi College
The NFL's all-time passing yards leader, Drew Brees helped Mississippi College supporters achieve a new record to strengthen scholarships. Serving as the keynote speaker at MC's Spring scholarship dinner, the New Orleans Saints quarterback proved to be a big hit on the Clinton campus. Focusing on his life's priorities of faith, family and football, Brees delivered a winning message Tuesday.

Mississippi College Table Tennis Team Earns 2nd Place Honors at Nationals
Wrapping up another superb season, Mississippi College's table tennis team finished No. 2 in the USA at the 2019 national championships. Facing perennial champ Texas Wesleyan University in the finals in Greensboro, North Carolina, MC fell 3 games to 1 in coed team matches on April 13. The Texas Wesleyan Rams captured four titles: men's (coed) team, women's team, men's doubles and men's singles. Texas Wesleyan has achieved 73 national championships in table tennis since the program started at the private institution in Fort Worth in 2001.

At a Chicago hotel room, Mississippi College professors interviewed a former terrorist who spent ten years in prison. It was quite a remarkable experience. The March session gave researchers with MC's Project Arrowhead important insights to help in the fight against global terrorism.
